Audio: Reel to reel, LPs, and cassestte can be digitized to CD. When you add the voice or song of the past to your projects, your projects really come to life.

How Do You Want to Use It?

What is your goal for tranferring your old memorabilia into DVD? Do you want to tell the stores, simply preserve the materials and share with family, or both? This answer will help determine what final digital format is best for you.

DVD - DVD is great! It is duplicatable, inexpensive, long lasting and small. Play over and over without quality loss. But it is compressed.

Tape - Long lasting but loses quality with continued use. Can hold uncompressed formats for video project use. Convenient size.

Hard Drive - massive storage capacity for lots of uncompressed video. Bulky, and can "crash" resulting in loss.

A combination is recommended, and well worth the few extra dollars for back-up.
